In 1874 Southern Comfort was established, created by Martin Wilkes Heron at McCauley's Tavern in New Orleans USA. Consumers were concerned with the strong taste of Whiskey's in that era, a much smoother and sweeter beverage was required. It was here when Heron began making a whiskey with fruits&spices and called it Cuffs and Buttons. The name wasn't fond upon therefore Heron renamed it Southern Comfort. Now it is a world wide selling whiskey which is loved by millions.
