Kiwi Wines Direct is Ian’s US wine importing and distribution business and having an office in San Francisco provides a gateway to the US consumer. Ian’s life started in the wine industry in the late 70’s with many tons of grapes grown and thousands of bottles of wine produced and sold around the world.
It was in 1996 that Ian’s wines first entered the US market where in those days fax machines were new and rare and postal services and newspapers were profitable. He has plenty of memories of interesting marketing trips and good sales in the US over the years whilst gaining an extensive knowledge of market idiosyncrasies and the requirements needed to complete a sale and successfully build a brand.
