Famous Grouse is a famous Scotch whisky which goes back to the 19th century.
William Gloag, child of a Scottish food merchant and wine dealer started creating mixed whiskies in the 1860s, so that when his nephew Matthew assumed control over the business in 1896 he was at that point experienced in the exchange. That year, he made The Grouse Brand mix, naming it after Scotland's national diversion feathered creature.
