Description

Charles Heidsieck Blanc Des Millenaires 2004

Tasting Notes:

To the eye a heavenly glowing brilliant robe with primrose highlights, explained solely from Chardonnay grapes. A sensitive, particular bubble, the consequence of over 15 years maturing in Gallo-Roman chalk cellars.

On the nose, a strict determination of more than 4 grand crus from the Cote des Blancs and one premier cru stipends a novel honorability, class and liberality to this wine. The rich bunch presents smells of dried and sugar coated fruits, for example, hazelnuts, almonds and dates. The wine of a person of good taste, with profound strong notes of beeswax and nougat.

The year 2004 discovers expression in this wine on account of the attractive, smooth but then sensitive composition so normal for the Blanc Des Millenaires. Smooth and sexy, the wine uncovers its liberality in notes of salty caramel and its gentleness in an insight of almond milk, supplemented by unobtrusive notes of vanilla and cedar wood.

An exceptional feeling, an impression of time everlasting, much like the inclination one has when remaining in the heart of the 2000-year old chalk cellars for which this wine is named.

Grape Variety:

100% Chardonnay

Residual Sugar 12.2g/l

Vinification:

After fermentation, the wine is racked to partitioned the dregs and undergoes experiences malolactic fermentation to soften the natural acidity. Subsequent to mixing the diverse crus, the wine is packaged and added yeast included for the second maturation. The bottles are
set in the cellars at a temperature of 10°C, and matured for no less than 15 years before discharge.

Background Information:

Charles Heidsieck is one of most respected Champagne houses on account of the unrivaled and reliably high caliber of its wines. The present extent is a standout amongst the most recompensed accumulations of wines on the planet, something underlined when Chef de Cave Thierry Roset was named 'Shimmering Winemaker of the Year' at the International Wine Challenge this year. This was the fifteenth time that Charles Heidsieck's winemaking group had won this honor, yet the first for Thierry, who has been working at the house following 1988. He assumed control over the reins in 2012, having worked with both the immense Régis Camus and the unbelievable Daniel Thibault. This winemaking legacy, combined with the house's colorful history since its establishment in 1851 by the man who might get to be known as 'Champagne Charlie', makes it a novel offering from Champagne: a house with awesome wines, champagne legacy and demonstrated quality all through its extent.
